No injuries reported. Thank goodness.
I was flying almost weekly to Burbank in the late
1990's when they overshot and parked it at the Chevron Station across the street.

Looks like the EMAS did its job! Glad no one was hurt.

The EMAS is a
newer addition and a good one
. If you have ever flown into Burbank, it is a short runway and they literally screech
to a halt right at the gates!

Ooops, glad they are ok.

I haven’t - but I live 15 minutes from Midway, which actually has shorter runways and available landing distances than Burbank. Saturday is the anniversary of this overrun at MDW - which killed a child on the ground, before the EMAS was installed there:

Thanks to the EMAS, that plane will probably fly again in the next day or two. Should have almost no damage, but they’ll give it a good look over.

I like that they note the monthly average rainfall is 2.4 inches, while failing to note that the entire year’s rain comes in a period of about three months.

I surprised they even deplaned. You could just pull it out, do your paper work and take off to phoenix.

Wonder if it’s due to the rain? Weather today was quite insane. Thought I was going to drown driving to work.

Or one day in the case of today...

That would be my guess, coupled with reduced visibility, might have been hard to see where to put the wheels down.
You have flowing into burbank right? They brake hard at the end.

Yup, I love flying in/out of Burbank. Definitely my preferred airport over LAX. Getting there, parking, and dealing with the airport are all way easier. Sometimes it costs more but its worth it. And yeah I do recall it being an adventure in landing lol. Rain certainly would exacerbate that. Rarely an issue though with how infrequently it rains.

Just looking at the photo,
This reminds me of running in the gym and sliding on knees, putting holes in the knees of all the jeans and Mom getting pissed!

I, uh, think they might need to wash it first.

The poop stains on the seat perhaps?

Okay, so they need to wash the inside too then.

Maybe on Southwest. You know that wouldn’t bother United, and recent evidence suggests Delta is cool with it as well.

Now I’m dreading my trip next week on shit soaked seats.

Think of how much stronger it will ultimately make your immune system! Its basically like free vaccines! After you get over the hepatitis or norovirus whatever.

Fact: since I started traveling frequently I get sick less than I used to.
